IMA Charlotte is hosting 8 hours of NASBA approved CPE on Friday, December 13th at a bargain cost of $85 for the full day and $55 for a half-day. Included in the program will be 2 hours of ethics and a voucher for lunch at Johnson & Wales. Register now, limited to 50 attendees!

Speaker - Andre Gien—Global Financial Bridge  

Andre is the founder of Global Financial Bridge, an Interactive financial statement analysis and communication system that takes the income statement and balance sheet and converts these documents into a one page financial scorecard. The user is then in a position to measure the impact of their decisions as to how it impacts profitability, cash flow and return on the invested dollar. Answering questions such as what if grow by an additional 6% and invest $xxx in business development and reduce our receivable days by 5 how will that impact our profit, cash and returns.

Some of his selected accomplishments include:

  • Major Food processing industries: over a ten year period completed 2 projects identifying $100M in savings and generate an additional $300M gross potential of which about $250M was realized.
  • Integrated publishing and printing industry: Identified dysfunction between income statement and balance sheet management that resulted in approximately $80M in cost reduction.
  • Fabric manufacturing and distribution industries. Created the position of VP Performance manger. With her staff had a horizontal role of integrating the core competencies with desired financial performance.
  • Major contractor to the healthcare industry. Improved gross profit margin by 2%, ROCE% by 3% by changing the way each contract was measured and managed from quote to completion
  • Major human capital survey provider. Designed the scorecard management system creating an alignment with the required client interface behavior. Product depth improved by 10%.
  • Two major distributors: implemented the GPS (Growth Performance system) designed around the concept of white space management. Producing a very different way in which the front line identified and executed on opportunity. Revenue increase of 10% with zero margin destruction.
  • Mining industry. Working capital efficiency program creating 9% improvement in free cash flow. Using a simple but effective process called the money map.
  • Software industry. Consulted to the VP of product development with two strategic product goals. One being to head the innovation team in the formulation and design of an interactive command centre the other to create a simpler user interface. Leading to the launch of the next version. 
Andre is a South African and Australian Chartered Accountant with a Masters in Marketing and Logistical management. Accountant with a Masters in Marketing and Logistical management.

Speaker - Royallen Paul Wiley - MBA, CMA

 

Royallen Wiley has extensive experience in progressively more responsible positions in Finance and Accounting for Fortune 100

companies. Among others, he has worked for Sea-Land Corporation, Clariant Corporation and BASF. He currently works for

Domtar Corporation, headquartered in Fort Mill, SC, the leading producer of uncoated free sheet paper in North America,

serving as Finance Director for Domtar’s Fort Mill Accounting Center.  Royallen currently serves as President of the Carolina World Trade Association, a non-profit that promotes international commerce in the Carolinas.  He was a member of the City of Charlotte Trade Mission Delegation to China in March, 2017 and he is a member of the Clemson University Canada Center Senior Advisory Board.  He is currently serving his second term on the Institute of Certified Management Accountants Board of Regents.

Matthew Black is a finance and accounting professional with 8 years of experience combining financial knowledge, data analysis, and strategic understanding to drive improvement. He started with the Bosch Group in 2011 after completion of his studies. The Bosch Group is a leading global supplier of technology and services, generating sales of 78.5 billion euros in 2018. After a series of positions in controlling, accounting, and logistics at locations in MI, SC, and Germany, Matthew moved to Charlotte, NC. He is currently the Business Analysis Manager for the North American operations of Bosch Rexroth, the industrial division of the Bosch Group.

Speaker - Bridgett Davis

 

Bridgett Davis, Senior Cost Accountant, has been with Ingersoll Rand for 1 1/2 years.  Prior to joining Ingersoll Rand, Bridgett was Accounting Department Manager for Honda Manufacturing – Indiana, where she led the Accounting team through Visual Management implementation and 5S modeling, in addition to ERP deployment using Lean methodology in a large scale automobile manufacturing facility.

Speaker - Eric Gamble, Johnson & Wales University

 

Dr. Gamble, is an Assistant Professor at Johnson & Wales University – Charlotte Campus. He is in his 14th year with the University, teaching business management, finance, and entrepreneurship courses, in the School of Business.

  • Dr. Gamble received his PhD in Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he focused on urban education.
  • His MBA in International Trade is from Johnson & Wales University, in Providence RI
  • Along with his BS in Computer Systems Management.

 

Dr. Gamble worked in the hi-tech industry for more than 15-years holding a variety of senior sales, application engineering, and systems engineering position with companies such as:

  • IBM
  • Oracle
  • And two (2) venture capitalist (VC) funded startups in Silicon Valley
    • AlphaBlox, sold to IBM and integrated into their DB2 product.
    • Yipes Communications, sold in bankruptcy court to lead investor (only to be sold a few years later for more than $800MM).
